Stage Combat Choreography and Script with reflection:



Script and a small description 


Sophia has a present for Caroline, but it was too big and Caroline took that as an insult and thought that she bought it for her because she was fat, and then the drama begins.

Script:

Sophia: Hey 
Caroline: Hi 
Sophia: Happy Birthday 
Caroline: Thank you 
Sophia: I saw this amazing gift when i saw it reminded me of you
Caroline: Thank you I can’t wait to open it
                  ( i open the gift and look disgusted) 
Caroline: Are you sure this is for me 
Sophia: Ya, do you like it
Caroline: do you think I am fat
Sophia: what no why you don’t like it
Caroline: I hate it ( shove from the front)
Sophia: ( reacts) how could you ( shove from the front)
Caroline: (reacts and steps forward) 
Sophia: ( shove from the front) You should at least say thank you
Caroline: ( Reacts and steps back ) Never
Sophia: ( reacts and steps forward)
Caroline: I thought we were friends ( slap to the face) 
Sophia: ( ducks) 
Caroline: ( reacts) How did you do that
Sophia: (slaps to the face)

Ward Gunce su’s friend: Chareoline
I am going to be a lady that ordered clothes online but ounce s ( the delivery girl) The shirt that i ordered is 10x bigger than i expected it to be, so then i start the whole fight and get so mad that we start to fake fight physically since we are learning stage combat. I am a type of person who will get moody and mad very easily so that will be hard for Sophia ( Gunce su) to give me the present and me liking what she gave me

She is going to be the person that gave me the wrong shirt because it was 10x bigger than i asked and It was wards birthday. Sophia ( ounce su) never new that Caroline ( ward) would think of it that way. She is the type of person that thinks that everything is fine and does not stress too much on giving presents to her best friends.

Scene background: 
We are fighting because she gave me the wrong shirt even though it was a mistake, but I think that she did it on purpose because the thinks that 
I am fat so than i start the fight. This is going to be a silly performance because we feel that it is going to be more funny and interesting, we also thought that we will have more ideas and dialogue between us and also acting serious is hard for some of us. 

How do you think your stage combat will go? 
I think that this will be good but i may have trouble trying to memorise the choreography and which one goes where in which place, But i still think that we will do a good job in total because we just need to practice a lot at home and at school. There may be some hard time with the reactions and how to be confident and for me to smile less during the plays.


In Drama class today we had to perform our performances that we had a week to practice on. Me and my friend Gunce su were one of the first people to preform on stage, and for me this is the hardest things but i had to get over it. I got a prop with me on stage and it was a big sweater so that it can be better with some props on stage. The performance did not go so well probably because we did not practice a lot and did not memorise the choreography probably and that will probably affect our grades. The techniques we used was slapping, punching, shoves and the extra move that we added eye pock. i also had the mistake of when i make a mistake on stage i just have to keep going, i can improve on that if i have confidence.

reflection on stage slap

In our drama class we are learning various types of stage comebacks so far we have learned stage slap and now we are moving on to stage punch. Our teacher gave us an idea of what to make our short play about, the play the we had to do was about two people arguing the employee and the boss, Jenna chose to be the boss and I was the employee, we had and argument about me not doing my work ( in the play) and then i ended up slapping. We had to learn how to slap a perfect slap so the there will be no injuries. We first had to be far from each other but not too far, you can tell if you are fa enough if u put ur hand out and there should be a small gap between you hand and the other person. You then must give a sign to the other person so that they know that you are going to slap them and you can also look at the place where you are going to hit them on ( most people would aim at their cheek) Then you must stand of centre, that means that one of our legs must be i the middle of the other person leg ( still keep the distance). The most important part of this (apart from safety) is the reaction that you will have at the end, when you are slapping you need to make sure that you react when it is near your cheek, but when you are going to punch you react when it is slightly across your face to make it more realistic, but we both must react on certain reason. Then there is something called a knap, that is the sound that the person that will be getting slapped will make since we have no special features to support us. In the play that me and my partner Jenna were communicating and collaborating with each other so that it will be perfect play, we had to keep practicing so we won't mess it up. The successful part of our play was the dialogue and the way that Jenna reacted. However there were some unsuccessful parts like the snap sound when I was going to slap her, i feel that it could be a little more louder. If we ever do this again I feel that we could improve on making it more realistic and I we could improve on the free frame at the end to make it look more realistic and not fake. In conclusion i think that this was a good task to learn how to have an argument, and how to stage slap without hurting anyone, we have worked well together and both have learned a lot of things about stage comebacks. drama reflection

what skills do you feel you have developed in this unit?
In this unit for drama i feel that i have been more confident and i have worked better i have been improving on communicating with my team and working collaboratively. I have learnt more about editing videos and how you can make them better so you will get a higher mark.

What were your greatest success in this unit?
in my opinion i feel that my greatest success was the silent movie because i have learnt how to express feelings without any words.

how did each group member contribute to the portrayal of you story?
We all worked very well in a group, we were all organised and thought creativity to make it better. we could have discussed a bit more to make the play better and worked on with more thought

Do you think television/film can change the way we see the world?
yes i d think that television/film can change the way we see the world because there are many edits that you can add to make your film better and many fictional characters to add so we can imagine different things.

What reaction did your performance get from the audience, and was it expected or planned for ( what was your original objective?)
The audience was very confused of what was happening in the movie and i expected that. I feel if we had edited it better and made the volume better the performance would make a lot more sense.

How can you apply your newly developed skills to other performance work in the rest of this coarse or to another subject?
I can use confidence in any other subject because it is important to me and i have not used confidence in a lot of my subjects. the editing skills are proving bye the day.

peer assessment on silent movie

Self Reflection:
We did our silent movie in the school. I was working with Riccardo, Gunce su, Omar and Adam. Considering that Riccardo was absent we still managed to get a good performance i would give riccardo an excellent mark excellent Adam i would give him a substantial mark because he did exaggerate but not as much, Gunce su i would give her also a substantial mark because i thought that she could uave more interference and bob i would give him an adequete mark, i thought he could do better.

Presha, Salma , amal , Nasser and Arthur were in a group together. I think that salma was the best one because she had more exxageration so i think that she deserves a exxagerative . Nasser was also good but i think that he deserves less than salma. Zayd have filmed well. Arthur didnt have much interput so i will give him a substantial . Amals acting was good so i will give her a excellent  and presha i would give her a 5 because of her acting

Sireen was acting well but i think she could have been more struggle to she that she is in trouble. Ibi was doing well but he could have exxagerated so j will give him a 5. Harang dodnt act a lot so i will gove her an adequate mark

there preformance was amazing i think taht maygol was the best because she had more exxageration in it i would give her an excellent mark whoch is a excellent.  Faris was also good but I thought he would et a substantial . Akshansh was good so i will give him a excellent  Anishka i would give her a substantial mark because she sidnt act a lot in it.

How to find your maiden:
Kiyara, Rania, Hyeonho and sam.
I thought that there play was really good and exxagerated, I love how sam and rania were looking on each side i will give both of them an excellent . Kiyara was also very good but she could acted more i will give her an executive  Hyeonho was good preforming as a girl since he was a boy so i will gove him a excellent


Jenna, Rithan, Monica and Bassel:
I think that their group was good but it could be less violent. I would give Jenna a substantial mark because she didn't exxagerate a lot. Bassel i would give also a substantial mark because he was exxagerating. Rithan was also hood but he would get an adequate because he wasnt as exxagerative. Monica was also good but she could have had a substantial mark.

Reflection on melodrama play

Reflection:

I think that my group and i worked well together to make it a good and amplify the play. We each had different expressions to match the character we played as. We also had the movements to show what kind of characters  we are. we could improve on making the play more realistic; for example if the girl in the real play is played by a boy then the boy could change his voice more and have a bit more of a movement. If we added costumes it would make the play efficient. altogether i think the we all did an amazing job working as a group

Melodrama Characters 



The first one that i have decided to choose is the damsel in distress because there is always someone that is saved by a hero because the villain took her and find a way to destroy her or whatever the villain desires. I have chosen to wear a dress that i wore from the graduation party last year, because the ladies are usually in dresses or clothes that attract the others. there poses are usually happy in the beginning or the end so i have decided to do one of those scenes. 



the reason i have chosen a superhero to be in one of my 3 melodrama stock characters is because i believe that in every story there must be someone to save the day and make it a happy ending. Superheroes come in many different shapes and sizes, i decided to wear a batman shirt because he is one of the most dominated superheroes, the cape is my mums abaya, i used that because I had nothing else to put as a cape and make it more realistic. The position that i have chosen was to look up into the sky/held my chin up high, with my hand on my hip and puff my chest.





The villain is one of my chosen characters, i chose a villain because superheroes usually appear if there is a crime, and those are usually made by the villains. For costume i was wearing another long black abaya, i used vampire teeth to make it look that i am a scary person, the fingers are from a witch costume that i have used for Halloween. The was on my side for this position so i can cover myself with my cape, I pointed my fingers from my right hand to show my fingers and the other hand to hold the cape, I believe that villain do that to hide themselves or people.

in this video I have added many things that can represent me, such as; Football and basketball, I added these two pictures because I love these two sports and I have played them for almost 7 years each, I also put pictures of my favorite football team and players. I have added many more other stuff. I think that I had done this project very well because I have managed to make up my own music to fit in with the video, I think I did pretty well over all getting everything in place and on point, If I would ever do this project again I would improve on making my song longer and more interesting. I am an IB learner because I have been organized by making it on time, even though there was a bit of trouble, I am also communicator because I have communicated the things that represent me in music which also means that I was thinking creatively. Over all I think that I did a good job.

compositional techniques.

When music gets emotional the human is more attracted to it than normal music. It only takes 25 beats per second to fool the human eye. But you need thousand of notes/beats to fool the humans ear. Some examples are in movies, the rule is known as “sound before picture” you will usually hear a sound coming from the next image, the brain is can try to make perfect sense to what is happeneing. There are instruments that can make you think of a certain thing such as
The oboe or cello which can make a sound of sadness
The violin could play a happy child or anything that is happy
The wooden flute is the sound of romance or love
The percussions makes you remember the sound of the wind through the leaves.

Duck theme

                                                 today in music class we had a choice of doing the ducks theme and the cats theme, i choose to do the ducks theme because i found it easier and more interesting to do. I am proud of the fact the i managed to do it successfully. I could have improved on working independently. I am an IB learner because i have worked in a group collaboratively.

I enjoyed doing them with my partner. I could have improved on making it fit with the video. I was organized doing the Peter theme because I have finished this assignment on time. I also was a communicator because I was communicating with harang on how to get the right note

                                                  in music class we are learning how to play three themes on the piano from peter and the wolf. this video that i uploaded was the wolf theme. I found it i bit tricky getting the beat correctly and on time. I could have improved on getting the pace right. I am an IB learner because i tried something new, communicated with my partner and asked questions to make sure i am doing it right.

                                                               We had to do the hunters theme in music.this was my first time playing a song on the piano. I enjoyed doing it but it was very difficult to get the notes on the keyboard right. I could have improved on the time management. I have learnt that the kettle drums is in the family of precaution. I am an IB learner because i have communicated with the people that are working with me in the same piano.

self reflection

my group researched about the string family. i responsible for researching about the double bass instrument. Salma was responsible for doing the harp, Sireen did the double bass ( we both did it because there was a bit of a confusion but we merged them together. Anishka did the cello and Preesha did the Viola.
we all worked together and all collaborated well with each other. we followed what we were suppose to do . The leader of our group was Salma, she has done a great job at being a leader!

Peer evaluation

Ricardo, Amone, Sam, Hynho, and Mohammed Khaled are presenting a PowerPoint about woodwen.  They all did a PowerPoint mohammed did it about the clarinet. He told us how to play it and about it ( background information) Amone did it about the bassoon, he told us who made it but it didn't give lots of information such as how you should hold it and how is it used. Henho did the oboe, there was not a lot of information. Ricardo did the ocarina, he had information even though he did not give a power point but he used his prior knowledgeable, he told us by who it was made. Sam did the flute he told us how to use it and what are they made out of. They all could have been more confident. for the final grade i would give them a 5.
Akhansh's,  team did their project about the procaution family was an amazing project because they had confidence in themselves and lots of information. they knew exactly what they were talking about and shared it all with the class
The level that I would give them is a 7 which is excellent
 Rania, Monica, Kiyara and harang did their power point. it was very detailed and they have used confidence in themselves, they had lots of eye contact. their video was als good because it was  not too fast, which meant that they were able to read it all but still summerize it. the total grade that i would give them is 7-8 excellent

Art reflection

i have learnt how to make a mask using many different layers to make a nose or a mouth. i have learnt many different things during my rotation from drama to art and now music i have also learnt how to work in a group collaboratively. i leant how many different masks come from many different places and they all have a story behind it. new words that i have learnt is montages and texture. yes i have l learnt different many different ways of thinking critically. in drama we learnt how to use emotions in acting and in art how to make a mask in a different ways than I usually did. yes because when i was doing masks in different cultures. 2 i have developed my communicating skills in art and creativity in my work. i have used techniques to perform power points like talking with emotions and loudly so everyone can hear me. i did these pieces of art because I enjoyed doing them. the purpose of the masks was because we wanted to see different stories behind masks and what do they mean. I demonstrated it by using different ways to capture the eye of the audience and make them see what i see. the reason i did this is because its fun to do. the purpose of this work is to discover many things and learn many things. the unit was about our identity. this unit does relate to me because we have to learn about our selves and what made us this way, that includes my culture. we have did movement in drama. social: i have worked effectively with others in group works. in my group we had to make masks but i was absent on that day so i did it by myself but i still have communicated with my class when i presented it self management: my copy book was organised and all my work that i did in class. and i can work independently with work that i get assigned. research: i have researched a lot about masks because we had to make w power point about it. i also did research in henri mattise's work of art to make another power point about his amazing work of art .

                                  in our second term of grade 7 we took art, the first lesson was
                                   to wright and draw what identity means. you had to make a
                                   brainstorm with arrows coming out of the bubble. I  could
                                   have improved on making it more detailed and eye catching.
                                   I enjoyed this lesson because I learnt new things about
