Introducing Characters

Sister (Christa): Christa is the main character. She is the victim and the innocent one all the time. She always gets pranked by her two siblings and her dad is sometimes mean to her. Her aunt is the one who is always there for her. She is always tired of the complaining and the pranking and wants a little bit of love from her family.
Brother (Yusup): He is one of the sibling that prank her all the time. He finds it funny and he is the oldest one so  he thinks that he could have anything his own way. He isn't very close to Christa byt he is close to me and that only because we work together to prank her.
Me (Ward): I am the other sibling that always loves to prank her. Me and Yusup always plan something, sometimes we get away with it sometimes we don't, our relationship is not that bad but I personally find Christa annoying that's why i always prank her. My dad is mean sometimes and my aunt tries to stop me and Yusup from ruining her life.
Aunt Rania: She is the only responsible one in our family and the only one that could control us all even our dad. She comes to our house every time. She could be nice to us all but we all know that her favourite is Christa because she is always getting picked on.
Dad (Akshansh): He is our dad. We dont always lie him. He could be very careless at times even though he is the one who decided to adopt us. He is always arguing with our Aunt and always exaggerating things and causing problems. Most of the times he is mad but other times he is bossy. It is very hard to see him be nice to us.
Aunt (Jana): She is not always around so I don;t know how she would deal with us. She sometimes doesn't know what to do because we are all complaining. She isn't very fund of us but she still does a better job than my dad when it comes to being loving.

Hot-seating

I interviewed Christa who plays my sister, I asked her these questions and responded with these answers:

- How do you feel about your brother?
I think he could be mean sometimes because he keeps pulling these mean pranks on me but sometimes I feel like he cares about me sometimes.
- Do you like your aunt?
Yes, I love her she is the only one that is always there for me and she also understands me she is like my mother and could be a lot of fun to sit with her.
- Is your dad caring?
I don't know , sometimes i guess, i mean he is really weird and does not know how to control his anger issues but he did adopt me and so I am grateful for that and he also stands up to me when my sister and/or my brother pranks me.

Conflict Reflection

1)Why is conflict often an important part of a drama presentation? Explain.
I think that conflict is important in a drama presentation because you can have a lot of emotions, gestures and different tones when you talk and usually the conflict in a presentation is the most interesting part to the viewers and it makes them pay attention because some conflict could be fights and many people enjoy watching fights happen whether it is physically or verbally.

2)Give an example of one lesson when you created conflict in your drama scene and say how you did it. (pauses, gestures, action, dialogue etc)
The last presentation that we did involve conflict when two of the characters were arguing using dialogue and hand gestures and the whole topic was about to raise awareness.

     3) How did you demonstrate creativity in your final video task? Give examples of how you tried
new things or were thinking outside the box.
When we did our final video it was mostly the hand gestures and the dialogue that made it look creative because when we edited it at the end we made the sad scenes black and showed how it was a sad story.

     4) Do you think your message was clearly communicated in your video or could you have improved it? If so, how?
I think that in our video it did clearly show what the message was but we could have made it more creative and have less dialogue in the video and have one of our group voice record it to make it more interesting and unique, at the end of the video we did write down what the problem was.

     5) Think back to your performances at the beginning of term two, and now your current performances; do you think you have improved or developed any drama skills? (vocal skills such as: clarity of diction, inflection, accent, intonation and phrasing; pace, pause and timing; projection, pitch; emotional range, or physical skills such as movement, body language, posture, gesture, stillness, timing, control; facial expression; eye contact, interaction with other performers)

Yes, I do think that I have improved from the beginning of term 2 until now because I have found more ways of communicating and my vocal skills when I am preforming and depending on the scene, and I know now where to stand and how I should be positioned when I talk anot have my back turned. I now know that body language and using different getures is important and could add more effect on the play. I gained a lot of confidence during this term but I could use more emotion when I am preforming.
